Women's Varsity Jackets

Varsity jackets often combine a wool or wool-blend body with leather or faux leather sleeves. Sometimes they have cotton or polyester based fabric, ribbed knit collars, cuffs and hems, and inner lining (fleece, mesh, or quilted) for warmth and comfort.

A good fit means the shoulders align naturally, sleeves cover the wrist even when arms move, and there’s enough room underneath for layering (like a sweater or hoodie). The ribbed waistband should sit comfortably at the hips. Some styles are boxy or oversized for a relaxed look, others more tailored.

For jackets with wool body and leather sleeves, spot-clean when needed, use a damp cloth for surface dirt, avoid machine wash unless the care label allows it, dry clean if required. Hang on a padded hanger, store out of direct sunlight and moisture. For leather parts, occasional conditioning helps.

Varsity jackets are great for cooler weather like fall and spring, or mild winters. They’re excellent for layering over tees, hoodies, or light sweaters. Because they combine fabric body and leather/fabric sleeves, they offer both warmth and breathability. For colder climates, choose versions with thicker lining or wool body.
