Men's Suede Jackets

Suede is made from the underside (flesh side) of the animal hide, giving it a softer, napped finish. Unlike smooth leather, it has a textured surface that is more delicate and absorbs moisture more readily. It gives a more casual, luxurious look but requires gentler care.

• Shoulders: seams should align with your natural shoulder line.

• Body: it should allow for layering (e.g. a shirt or light sweater) without feeling tight.

• Sleeves: reach to the wrist; too long will bunch, too short will look odd.

• Length: typically hits around the waist or hip; avoid overly long cuts which distort the suede silhouette.

• Use a soft suede brush regularly to raise the nap and remove surface dust.

• For light stains or marks: use a suede eraser or a clean pencil eraser gently.

• For oil stains: apply absorbent powders like cornstarch, baking soda, or talcum powder, leave overnight, then brush off.

• Water stains: mist with a small amount of water to even out marks, then let dry naturally and brush.

• Avoid soaking, wringing, or using strong chemicals.

• Use a suede protector spray before use (and reapply periodically) to resist moisture and stains.

• For deep cleaning or stubborn stains, consult a professional dry cleaner familiar with suede.

Because suede is porous and more vulnerable to moisture, it's not ideal for heavy rain. If the jacket gets wet:

• Let it air dry naturally (away from heat sources).

• Brush the nap gently after drying.

• A light drizzle might be manageable if you’ve used a good suede protector spray, but heavy downpours can damage the texture and color.
